Using DocLink
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I use DocLink for?
With DocLink, you have access to two services:
1. Script Requests: For when a patient has no repeats remaining for a regular medication they’re taking.
2. Consult: For when a prescription medication is needed to treat an acute issue that requires a doctor’s assessment (e.g., antibiotics for a common infection).
How much does it cost?
DocLink has no ongoing subscription fees and is free to access within our Pharmacy Halo Hub software. As patients pay for the service in the pharmacy itself, Medmate will charge your pharmacy monthly for any appointments you book.
While DocLink comes default with recommended prices for Scripts Requests and Consults respectively (which net the pharmacy roughly $10 and $15, respectively), you have complete freedom to charge what you want and thus determine your own profit margins. If you’d like more specific pricing information, please contact us.
For a limited time, Medmate are also offering for your pharmacy’s first Script Request or Consult to be free of charge. This allows you to experience the benefits of DocLink first-hand with a real patient without any commitments or risk.
What medications can be prescribed by Medmate doctors?
Firstly, Medmate doctors will not prescribe controlled substances, narcotics, opioids, or any controlled/monitored drugs and medications requiring close monitoring by a doctor. This includes all Schedule 8 medications and Schedule 4 Restricted medications (e.g., benzodiazepines, codeine, tramadol, and other high risk hypnotic sedatives).
Aside from this, Medmate doctors are able to prescribe a wide range of medications across numerous conditions. For acute issues, this can include prescriptions like antibiotics, among many others. To explore the full scope of what the Consult service covers, visit our Example Consult Scenarios help page.
Medmate doctors also reserve the right to decline prescribing any medication, based on their professional medical advice.
What's the average wait time for consults?
Medmate strives for their doctors to call patients for appointments within 15 minutes from them being booked. This waiting time is actively monitored to ensure quality of service and timely solutions to patient’s issues while they’re still waiting in the pharmacy.
What are Medmate's hours of operation?
Medmate has doctors available for consults from 7am to 11pm (Australian Eastern Time), 7 days a week (including public holidays).
