Setup Dispense Integration with Z Dispense

Open your Hub Settings (i.e., the settings cog in the top-right of the Pharmacy Halo Hub).

Select Dispense Integration.

After selecting ZDispense from the Dispense Software dropdown menu, you’ll notice we need two things – the Server Name, and your Client Key to enable integration with Z.

Step 1: Server Name

If you DO know the name of your server computer

If you already know the name of your server computer that hosts your Z Dispense data, simply input this into the Server Name field as shown on the left with the example name “ZSERVER”.

If you DO NOT know the name of your server computer

If you DO NOT know the name of your dispense server computer:

  1. Open up a File Explorer window (the shortcut for this to hold the Windows logo button on your keyboard and then press the “E” key).
  2. Click on the option called Network on the left-hand menu of the File Explorer window, which should show you all the names of all the computers on your network.
  3. The name of your server should be on this list (e.g., “DISPENSE” in the example on the left). Most often it will have “server” in its name (e.g., ZSERVER), or at least will stand out from most of the options available. Once you have the name of your server, follow the instructions in the previous section above to input this into the Hub.

If you can’t find the name of your server, or you run into issues with setting this up, OR you just don’t feel confident doing this yourself, please don’t hesitate to click on the Request Setup help from Pharmacy Halo button in the Dispense Integration screen. This will ping our team to reach out ASAP.

Step 2: Client Key

Open Z Office and click Settings > Store Settings as shown on the left.

  1. Click on the Integration tab.
  2. Click on the checkbox next to Pharmacy Halo.
  3. Copy your Access Key (i.e., Client Key) and paste it into the Client Key box back in the Dispense Integration window in the Pharmacy Halo Hub.
    • The easiest way to do this is to click inside the Access Key textbox and press ctrl+a on your keyboard (i.e., Select All), then ctrl+c (i.e., Copy), then click over into the Hub and press ctrl+v (i.e., Paste).
  4. Save your settings changes.
    • REALLY IMPORTANT! Leaving this window open without saving is a sure-fire way to get super confused as to why integration won’t connect.

Step 3: Save and Close

Back in the Hub, hit Save and Close and you’ll be told if your setup was successful.

Once you’ve successfully setup your dispense integration on one computer, you won’t ever need to do this again unless there is a change to your server or dispensing software.

When you install the Pharmacy Halo Hub onto a new computer, it will inherit the integration settings automatically when you first login.

If you already had the Hub installed and running on another computer during the integration setup process, all you need to do is close and reopen it and the new settings will synchronise.

If the SpeedScan fields aren’t showing at the top of the Quda homescreen on a specific computer despite having setup your dispense integration:

  1. Restart the program (i.e., right-click the Pharmacy Halo Hub icon in your system tray and click “Quit Hub”)
  2. Head to Hub Settings > Terminal Settings and ensure both Speed Scan Order and Speed Scan SMS are activated on that computer.
